My Short Story from Syria, B05 Champion - Abdel Majeed

Before Codi...

I am a Syrian guy who studied Mechanical Engineering in Syria. One year ago, I left my country and came to Lebanon, and I started working in a gas station. I heard about Codi and so I contacted them and after a few days, I received an email from Codi's administration that said:

“Hi Abdel Majeed,

Congratulations!

You are receiving this email because you have been selected to move to the next stage..." etc.

When I saw the word "Congratulations!", I lost my mind and left my job because I realized I had accepted into this bootcamp. One month later and I started my journey as an intern at Codi, and I will be here until July 2020.

I came to Codi with no technical background, only with a big ambition and motivation because I love technology, and everything in our lives is related to it.

At Codi...

We are a big family, we learn together, work, play, laugh, talk about our problems, we spend our whole time together. In other words "hand in hand for a better future".

Both students and mentors are helping me in my progress in the tech field.

I have learnt so much so far and here are some key things that I have learnt recently:

1-New programming languages.

2-Time management.

3-English skills.

4-Team-working mindset.

5-Autonomous-learning.

And finally, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step and I am so pleased I have taken my first steps.

In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can, and yes, basically I can.

Life has its trying moments: for Codi's trust, cordiality and support, I say a big thank you to "Codi".
