From April 2020 (date TBC), we are launching a new 2-month Computer Literacy course. At Codi, our comprehensive curriculum focusses on teaching the fundamentals of basic computer digital skills needed for the business world. We have also dedicated a large portion of this programme to include English.
Codi Computer Literacy Programme
This programme continues to focus on using digital skills as a catalyst for social innovation, whilst also filling the gap of knowledge on the fundamentals of computer literacy amongst youth in Lebanon. We aim to continue to boost employment by making the technology sector more accessible. The curriculum for this 2-month programme will focus on developing skills for working in Internet or network environments, using collaboration platforms and designing digital solutions.
The course will begin with the computing fundamentals, including how to browse the internet and use proper technical jargon. From there we will look at constructing knowledge through tools, exploring how to produce data from research, how to understand and construct databases and which software is best to use for word processing, spreadsheets or presentations. We will focus on the basics of digital communication and collaboration, including email setups, business etiquette and using online drives and collaboration tools like Google suite.
The final part of the course will include designing digital solutions, understanding web pages and understanding concepts like SEO and Accessibility. We will look at developing web pages using HTML and CSS and how to manage a Content Management System securely and privately.
English is taught daily throughout the programme to lead students to basic written and oral proficiency in communicating in English. Language will no longer be a barrier to success! We focus on teaching business level English, through presentation practice, interview prep and email etiquette.
